£337 (Leet)

Over the past few years, the use of a pseudo online language has been dominating many chat rooms. Known as “LeetSpeak” (or Leet, l33t, £337 and a stack of other variants), it is basically a way for kids to chat online without parents being able to read what is written, and so those “in the know” can be an elite group (elite, bastardised becomes “Leet”) able to hold conversations that other elitists can understand and join in on.
There is a bit of an article from Microsoft here for Parents (A Parent’s Primer to Computer Slang), and one of many normal to Leet translators (and back) here.
There is even a Google page for searching Google using l33t
