Web-based Route Planner

I have found this site on the Visit Victoria website to be very useful when planning trips, or even just working out how to get from A to B when you don’t own a GPS map (such as a TomTom or Navman)

Simply entering your starting suburb (and optionally road), and destination suburb (and road), and it will give you a list of directions, times and distances to get you to you destination.

This is a really great way to find your way around. However, I do not own a car so it is not that relevant, but it is helpful.

What would be great if the same kind of thing could be done for public transport around Melbourne, one that links train routes with bus and tram routes. I am sure that would get people to use public transport more and leave their cars at home, especially on weekends. Wad do a think?
